Minneapolis & NY Law Enforcement

I wanted to take a few minutes today to share a story about the work our Minneapolis law enforcement officers did in conjunction with New York officers last Tuesday. Fortunately, this incident was resolved quickly and safely due to their professionalism.

Last Monday afternoon, a two-year-old girl from Minneapolis was reported missing. Police suspected that her sister, who has had issues with mental instability and bouts of paranoia, had taken the toddler and that both might be in danger.  Police also thought that they might be heading out of Minnesota.

Last Tuesday morning, after a missing child alert was issued, the New York State Police Thruway Patrol was able to locate the toddler and her sister in Syracuse. New York State Trooper Tara McCormick said, “Sometimes it comes down to that being in the right place at the right time. With all the worry it caused, we were glad that we were able to locate her in good health.”

Thank you to all the law enforcement officers who assisted with this incident and for the work you do day in and day out to protect children and prevent tragedies before they happen. Thanks to you, this toddler was able to return safely to her family.

In gratitude,
