Carpenters, Pipe Fitters, and 49ers Proudly Endorse Tom Emmer for Congress in MN-06

“The construction trades are the heart and soul of America,” said Emmer. “I’m honored to receive these endorsements. Thank you to the NCSRCC, the Minnesota Pipe Trades Association, and the Local 49 Operating Engineers for all you do to build our country.”

The North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters (NCSRCC), the Minnesota Pipe Trades Association, and the Local 49 Operating Engineers have endorsed Tom Emmer’s reelection campaign to Congress to continue representing Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District.

“The Carpenters believe that we should back candidates based on their record and their support of our members and their families,” said Adam Duininck, the Director of Government Affairs for the Carpenters Union. “We are proud to support Rep. Tom Emmer in his re-election. Carpenters support candidates who support us on key issues. This includes fighting for jobs, a strong economy as well as important policy like Davis-Bacon prevailing wage. Rep. Emmer has been a strong voice for the skilled trades and we stand behind him.”

“The Minnesota Pipe Trades supports candidates who support us on our issues,” said David Ybarra, the President of the Minnesota Pipe Trades. “Tom Emmer has been a consistent voice for our members, especially in the area of energy production. His support of these good jobs at family-sustaining wages is appreciated.  He has clearly earned our support for re-election.”

“Congressman Emmer has been an advocate for family-supporting, union jobs, including his unwavering support of Davis-Bacon wages, which ensures highly skilled workers get paid what they earn. His strong support for energy projects like the completion of Line 3 and the mining projects on the Iron Range, which would deliver critical domestic sources of copper, nickel and other minerals, should be commended. Local 49 is proud to work with him and endorse his campaign for reelection. We greatly appreciate his outreach and support of the operating engineers as a member of his caucus’s leadership team.” said Jason George of the Local 49 Operating Engineers.
