Budget Paves the Way for Tax Reform

Last week was a big week in Washington, D.C.  The House passed the budget, which is a fiscally responsible framework that garnered wide support from conservative groups across the country.  I was proud to support this budget, which paves the way for the first substantial tax reform this nation has seen in more than 30 years.

Yesterday, the tax reform text was released, and you can read the bill here.  Even before the proposed bill text was released, democrats were desperately working to fight tax cuts and reform.  Even the Washington Post gave “four Pinocchios” to Senate Democrat claims that it would be “a hefty tax hike” for the middle class and wrote “actually, it’s the opposite.”

Two of My Bills Cleared Committee

Last November, Americans went to the polls and demanded we Make America Great Again. While the mainstream  media may not always tell you about our progress, we are working to make that goal a reality.

this legislation that will protect the innocent.

To learn more about this important bill, read this op-ed by Chairman of the House Judiciary
Committee Bob Goodlatte.

As a father of seven, I am a proud supporter of life. I always have been, and always will be pro-
life and for as long as I serve in Congress, I will act to give a voice for those who are unable to
speak for themselves.

Undoing Overreach on Mining

Congress has been working to undo some of the overly burdensome and highly unnecessary regulations imposed on American families, businesses and states over the past eight years. We’ve had many successes in this area, and last week our efforts continued.

I was proud to gain unanimous support for my amendment to the Interior Appropriations Bill. This amendment will roll back a lame duck action from the Obama Administration and give us the opportunity to bring much-needed jobs and revenue to the great state of Minnesota.
