Emmer says he doesn’t believe Governor Walz will seek a third term and expects Walz to make a decision soon. “We’ve got an incompetent boob in the governor’s office that I’m hoping he runs again. But I don’t think he’s going to. I think you’ll soon hear that he’s going to make the decision. But the reality is he’s the most unpopular man in the country and in Minnesota. And he’s just the last to know it.”

Emmer called Walz’s recent national reintroduction party a failure and attacked him for years of fraud in state programs that could result in the loss of nearly $1 billion in tax money when it’s all said and done.

The congressman stated that under DFL leadership, the state blew through a $17 billion surplus and added another $10 billion in new taxes and fees. Minnesota is now facing a $6 billion deficit in the coming years.

Four announced candidates are seeking the Republican nomination for governor. They are Minnesota Representative Kristin Robbins, Former gubernatorial candidate Scott Jenson, author and former gubernatorial candidate Kendall Qualls, and former St. Cloud City Council member Jeff Johnson.
