Tom is focused on fighting the affordability crisis to restore energy independence and provide immediate economic relief to Minnesota families struggling with the high costs of groceries, gas, and electricity. Tom played a critical role in getting President Trump’s working families tax cut signed into law which makes President Trump’s tax cuts permanent for families and businesses, includes policies like no tax on tips and no tax on overtime, and provides new tax relief for seniors.
Tom is a strong supporter of President Trump’s peace through strength policies. Whether here in the United States or our service members abroad, Tom has consistently voted to restore our military strength and give our troops the resources they need to protect our country at home and abroad. Tom is also working to hold blue states and blue cities accountable for their reckless policies that have turned major cities into war zones.
Tom is, and always has been, dedicated to reducing Washington’s runaway spending. Americans know how to spend their money better than Washington bureaucrats. Tom has taken action to decrease our growing debt and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. He will continue looking for ways to cut waste, find more reforms, and advocate for sticking to the “regular order” process of appropriations rather than resort to bloated omnibus bills.
Tom believes only Americans should vote in American elections. It’s why he’s worked to hold the State of Minnesota and the Walz Administration accountable over numerous reports of non-citizens voting or receiving mail-in ballots. Tom supports commonsense policies in Congress, such as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act to require a proof of citizenship before registering to vote and to mandate states like Minnesota remove ineligible voters off their voter rolls.
Tom led the charge to pass the strongest border security bill in decades (H.R. 2) that will help stop the flow of fentanyl, gangs, and terrorist threats into Minnesota and our country. Tom successfully worked to pass the Laken Riley Act, which is now law, to ensure illegal aliens who commit crimes in the U.S. are quickly and permanently deported from our country.
Tom is working to bring education back into the hands of parents, not radical teachers’ unions. Tom is putting the needs of parents and students first by championing school choice policies, empowering local school boards, and working to end the U.S. Department of Education.
Tom is working to honor and support our men and women in blue by successfully funding mental health programs for local police departments and sheriff’s offices and ensuring local and state law enforcement have the resources to keep us safe.
Tom is Congress’s leading crypto and financial privacy expert. His landmark education to ban a Chinese Communist Party-style digital surveillance tool, a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), passed through the House of Representatives in 2024. Tom is working with President Trump to make cryptocurrency and digital assets obtainable for the everyday American while upholding the core values of financial freedom and privacy that we hold dear.
Tom believes that funding to improve roads, bridges, and highways should be spent on just that – improving roads, bridges, and highways. That’s why he helped secure federal funding for critical road and wastewater projects to ensure Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District continues to attract investments, business, and families. He has also authored legislation to prioritize funding for interchange and intersection safety.
Unfortunately, American communities continue to suffer from a severe mental health crisis. Tom is committed to providing mental health resources for our children, law enforcement, and rural communities. In Congress, Tom has led the charge to provide funding and greater access to care for vulnerable populations.
