Anoka County Sheriff’s Office

Before the end of 2021, two members of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office were recognized for their outstanding service. Sheriff James Stuart was elected President of the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association, and Anoka County Commander Wayne Heath was awarded the President’s Award by the outgoing president of the Association.

From the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office: “While it is already a huge honor to serve Anoka County as the elected sheriff, it is truly humbling to be chosen by Minnesota’s top cops to represent them as their president.  I will continue to work with the association’s leadership to raise the bar for training, leadership, trust, professionalism, and service.  The association’s 136-year history is a proud one on which we will continue to build,” stated Sheriff Stuart.

The installation ceremony featured the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard as they conducted a ceremonial rifle inspection and then presented the colors before the event.  Commander Wayne Heath was presented with the prestigious President’s Award by outgoing MSA President Isanti County Sheriff Chris Caulk.  The President’s Award is given to one person whom the president feels exemplifies public service and selflessness.

Congratulations to Sheriff Stuart and Commander Heath on this well-deserved recognition! And thank you to each member of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office for all you do to make Anoka County safe.
