#ThankACop: K-9 Grizz & Wright Co. Deputy Loomis

Meet K-9 Grizz, the newest addition to the Wright County Sheriff’s Department!

Grizz began training in March shortly after his predecessor K-9 Vader retired. He and his handler, Deputy Michael Loomis, finished their certifications in narcotics detection, tracking, and general patrol duties in June and are officially now on duty. The Wright County Sheriff’s Department worked with Performance Kennels to host the certification school for Grizz and seven other law enforcement agencies from Minnesota and Iowa.

#ThankACop: Deputy Eric Schultz

Two weeks ago, Stearns County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Schultz was recognized for his work with youth as a school resource officer in Holdingford, MN and for his work with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post. According to the Department, “Deputy Schultz volunteers many hours a month to see that the program is running smoothly and successfully. He gives of himself and his time to teach our youth about the career of law enforcement, respect, honor, and giving back to the communities in which they live.”

#ThankACop: Officer Ryan Priebe

Each year, the Minnesota Peace and Police Officer’s Association names an officer of the year. This year, St. Cloud’s Officer Ryan Priebe was recognized for his service to his community and for his actions on the night of June 14, 2020. Officer Priebe has served with the St. Cloud Police Department for 14 years. His work in St. Cloud’s South Side neighborhood and work with the Community OutPost (COP) House were noted as well.
